Medication without prescription

Since the inception of the online pharmacy, we have seen the birth of the availabillity of many medications that would generally require prescriptions being easily obtainable without the written consent of a doctor.

The question I am left asking myself is if I am risk by self medicating and is what I am doing ethically wrong?

The availabillity of prescription free medication has led to the savings of hundreds of dollars by the consumer and a loss of much monetary inflow by doctors. I don't believe that I can put a price tag on my health and wellbeing, but I do appreciate a financial break once in a while. Furthermore, I must consider if the community of General Practitioners is taking advantage of this need based industry and overcharging from the start?

Regarding the risk of self medicating, I believe it to be irresponsible to take any medications without prior consultation with your GP or family doctor. Yet as a responsible adult there are at the same time many medications, that I feel I may re-prescribe myself after the initial doctors visit.

These medications are specifically for the treatment of Erectile dysfunction(Viagra, Cialis or Levitra), hairloss(Propecia) and weight-loss(Xenical or Hoodia).

As an overall, I would never start a new medication or change a dosage without first visiting my doctor, but re-prescribe medication that I have been using without any problems or side effects is perfectly acceptable by me
