Encouraging to Kick the Smoking Habit

Thursday, 13/10/2011

Pharmicists are now starting to approach smokers who are also patients that have health problems. In any typical situation, being asked to stop smoking from a professional or even a non professional persepctive has in most cases been inaffective and somewhat offensive. Dr. Zwar from australia noted that when he had approached his patients who smoked about quitting they usually took the "cold turkey" approach, meaning that in spite of all the medical advantages and options given to them, they in most cases just brush off the advice.

Pharmacies are also a big factor in promoting smoking cessesion. Since pharmacies are so reluctant to the public, no long lines or appointments, professionalists come in contact with many smokers picking up medication or anything of that nature. Pharmacists approaching patients about quitting only became the "reasonable" thing to do since the smoking cessesion was such a critical element to being healthier.
